Stop the Clock” is a key teaching strategy used in the coaching labs.  

A student is the coachee and another student is the coach. 

The student coach starts to coach the student coachee.

The trainer will interrupt the coaching session 2 or 3 times when they observe an ICF Competency in practice. 

They will also provide specific feedback on the coaching, identifying exactly what it was that the coach did that met a specific ICF competency and its related PCC Markers.  

This will allow the coach to learn what they are doing right and how they can improve.

It allows students who listen to observe the coaching competencies practice and learn from their peers.
